Web development, built by hand.

Custom website design and development from a studio in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, working with clients worldwide. Clear, distinctive sites built around what your customers actually need to understand and do — strategy, design, hand-built code, a real launch, and someone still answering afterward. Flat written quotes from $1,500 CAD.

01 / ScopeStrategy through launch, one team

What a build includes.

Not a phase gate, not a relay race between departments. The same small team does the thinking, the design, the code and the launch — which is the only reliable way the decisions survive the handoffs.

S-01

Strategy and information architecture

Before anything is designed: who the site is for, what they need to understand, and what you need them to do. Then the structure — the pages, the order, and the path from a stranger’s first click to the thing that earns you money.

  • Audience and objective, written down
  • Sitemap and page-level intent
  • Content requirements, agreed early
  • Plain-language tradeoffs, not jargon
S-02

Design and hand-built development

Design that looks like your business rather than a template everyone else is also using, and code written by hand instead of assembled from plugins. Fast, accessible, and readable enough that any competent developer can pick it up later.

  • Custom design, not a stock theme
  • Hand-built, dependency-light code
  • Responsive and accessible by default
  • Documented and handed over properly
S-03

Launch, SEO, and ongoing care

Hosting, SSL and the domain set up properly, technical SEO and analytics wired in, and a launch that actually happens — not a concept handoff. Then maintenance, because launch is the start of operations, not the finish line.

  • Hosting, SSL and domain setup
  • Technical SEO and analytics
  • A real launch — not a handoff
  • Ongoing care available afterward

02 / PricingFlat quotes, no hourly meter

One number, before any code.

You get a flat written quote before work begins. No hourly meter, no change-order surcharges, no invoice that arrives larger than the conversation that preceded it. Full detail lives on the pricing page.

Copywriting, e-commerce, custom integrations, and application functionality are scoped separately. Rescue and adoption projects are quoted after a paid, time-boxed diagnosis. Larger web-product work is quoted around the actual problem.

03 / FitWho this is for

When a new build is the right call.

W-01

You are starting from nothing

New business, new product line, or a first real website after years of getting by on a social profile and word of mouth. The structure gets decided once, properly, instead of accreting.

W-02

The current site is beyond repair

Sometimes the honest answer to a rescue is replacement. If that is your situation, start at website rescue — the diagnosis tells you which of the two you are actually buying.

W-03

You have outgrown the template

The stock theme did its job and now it is in the way: slow, generic, and impossible to change without breaking something. See the Down East Music rebuild for exactly that story.

W-04

The site needs to do something

Bookings, calculators, portals, member areas, integrations with the systems you already run. That is web applications and automation, quoted around the actual problem.

How the work feels

A small team, start to finish.

Small on purpose. There is no relay race between sales, strategy, design, development and support, and no account-management layer translating your business into a ticket. The people who scope the site are the people who build it and the people who keep it running.

We also build and operate six live web products of our own — ScamCallCheck, TheCareer, CalcNow, LenderReady, Down East Music and VINscan — which is where the standards on this page were formed.

What you can expect

  • Direct communication and plain-language tradeoffs
  • A narrow scope before code starts
  • A real launch — not a concept handoff
  • Maintenance after the excitement wears off
  • If we start it, we finish it — no vanishing acts

04 / QuestionsWeb development, answered

Web development questions.

How much does a website cost?

A standard business site starts from $1,500 CAD. Every project is quoted flat and in writing before work begins — no hourly meter, no change-order surcharges. What moves the number is the size of the site, whether you need copywriting, e-commerce, custom integrations or real application functionality, all of which are scoped separately.

What is included in a standard business site?

Strategy and information architecture, design, hand-built development, hosting, SSL and domain setup, technical SEO and analytics, and a real launch rather than a concept handoff. Ongoing care is available after launch. Copywriting, e-commerce, custom integrations and application functionality are quoted separately so you are not paying for capability you do not need.

Do you build websites for businesses outside PEI?

Yes. NeuroLabs is built in Prince Edward Island and serves the world. Charlottetown is where the studio operates, not the limit of who it works with — the work runs remotely and written-first, directly with the people building your site.

Do you use WordPress, or a website builder?

We hand-build sites rather than assembling a theme and a stack of plugins on top of it. That is a deliberate choice: much of the rescue work that comes through this studio is somebody else’s plugin graveyard or a template nobody can safely update. You get a site that stays fast, stays yours, and can still be changed years from now.

Who writes the copy?

You can, and the structure and the guidance come from us either way. If you would rather not, copywriting is scoped separately and quoted with the rest of the project. What we will not do is fill your site with placeholder text and call it launched.

What happens after launch?

Launch is the start of operations, not the finish line. Hosting, updates, monitoring and changes are available as ongoing care, and the same small team stays on it — one team from the first conversation through launch and maintenance, with no account-management layer in between.

Start with the business, not the pixels.
